2019 Novel Coronavirus

As part of a coordinated effort with national, state, county and local partners to combat the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the City of Ovilla has closed municipal buildings effective immediately and until further notice.

The City of Ovilla will continue to actively monitor and respond to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation. Officials and key personnel remain in contact with both Dallas and Ellis Counties, state, and local health officials, including all our neighboring municipalities.
For current information on COVID-19 cases in Dallas County, please visit the Dallas County Health and Human Services website. DCHHS updates these numbers daily at 10 a.m.
For current information on COVID-10 in Ellis County, please visit: https://co.ellis.tx.us/948/2019-Novel-Coronavirus

Although there is currently no vaccine to prevent COVID-19, the best way to prevent infection is to take the following precautions at home, at work or out in the community:
o Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol.
o Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
o Stay home when you are sick.
o Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
o Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe
