PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
JOB TITLE: Maintenance Worker
BENEFITS: Medical, life, short-term and long-term disability insurance, options for vision and dental, insurance, TMRS retirement as well as vacation, sick, holiday schedule and three personal floating holidays per year.
STATUS: Non-Exempt
COMPENSATION: Starting salary range is $13.50 to $17.45 an hour. Starting hourly rate depends on experience, possession of a commercial driver’s license and various certifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and some manual labor experience (such as mowing, carpentry, plumbing, etc.) or construction trades experience. Must be able to push, pull, lift and carry tools, materials and debris up to 100 lbs. and have the ability to bend, kneel, and stand walk for extended periods of time during various maintenance activities. This position is exposed to outdoor elements, participates in and performs duties in accordance with departmental safety policies and procedures. Must demonstrate intrinsic motivation, high ethical and moral standards, and strong customer service and have regular, reliable attendance.
Additional Requirement: Must hold a current Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License or be able to obtain a Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License within 12-months of hiring.
Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday; on call one week a month; at the Department’s discretion, the work location and workdays/hours may be subject to change.
Environmental Conditions:
Office and field environments.
